Nikos Alexiou

Nikos Alexiou
is one of the most influential contemporary Greek artists. I first saw his work in 2003 at his show in Rebecca Camhi Gallery, where he presented work inspired by the Iviron Monastery on Mount Athos (10th-11th century). Since then, Alexiou has collaborated with many different galleries, he participated in many group exhibitions including Deste prize 2003 (Athens), Outlook (Athens, 2003), Breakthrough (Madrid, 2004) and Athensville
(Art Athina, 2008). In 2007 he represented Greece at the Venice Biennale. He is now participating in the current exbibition of EMST (National Museum of Contemporary Art) in Athens.
