Human Behaviour

Jenny Mörtsell grew up in Stockholm, Sweden, and as a kid filled drawing pad after drawing pad with mostly horses, boys and shoes. Following high school she studied printmaking art, then graphic design and illustration taking a Masters degree in fine arts from Konstfack University in 2004. Since then Jenny has been balancing a busy roster of U.S. and European clients who have come to adore the style of her signature pencil drawings.

Jenny's artwork can be seen in such publications as The New York Times Magazine, NYLON, Elle, Bon, Cover and Lula. She is currently based in New York.

This is her website but you can see her work here.

Voodoo Queens

Series of interventionist doodles for I Want You Magazine, by Nina Chakrabarti

"Nina was born and spent her early life in Calcutta, India. She moved to the UK in her teens carrying her stamp collection under her arm and little else. She studied illustration at Central St. Martins, and many years later, at The Royal College of Art.

Her work is often concerned with collections and the composition of objects. She works using Rotring pens, felt tips, biros, pencils, inks and the Apple Macintosh. She enjoys using different technologies and mediums and collaborating with others when the opportunity arises."

Covering covers

John Paul Thurlow is an creative director from London. When he is not working for advertising campains he is re-drawing covers of well known magazines.

As he says: " This is an hommage (six months in), an attempt to create cover art for every great magazine I own (+ a few I wish I owned). It's never a straight crib and it's not about perfection, the source magazines are simply a playground for my imagination...

Covering covers lets me combine some of my favourite things; portraiture, pencil sketching, typography, graphic design, and ideas - there's usually one in there somewhere."

See all his covers here.

I miss Trevor Burks

"After studying abroad I had to leave one of my best friends in Minneapolis. As a joke I produced t-shirts and posters to give to my friends back home, so when ever I missed Trevor they’d put them on and pretend to be him." says Rob Matthews.
