Fred's back by Lina Scheynius

Lina Scheynius was born 1981 in Vänersborg in Sweden and grew up in Trollhättan. She moved away from home at 16. After that she spent most of her time in London and at the moment she lives in Paris, but still goes back to London and Sweden. She thinks she works best when she keeps moving around. This picture is taken from her flickr account but you can also see her work on her site.

Self portrait

The person behind the poster is Gabriel Ebensperger. He says that when he was drawing the poster he was being honest. He wasn't being honest when he was photoshoping his background though. Anyhow, I think this is one of the most clever and original self portraits I have seen. Gabriel is from Chile and you can see more of his work here.

On rentre à l'heure où les oiseaux chantent

I just ordered this book! It is by a young photographer from France.
"Yves Drillet is a young upcoming photographer born in the nineties, studying at the Fine Art Institute of Rennes, France. Even if his photography follows Larry Clark, Ari Marcopoulos or Ed Tempelton footsteps, Yves Drillet gives us a fascinating documentary on his contemporaries. Beyond the portraits, the parties or some empty landspaces, the photography of this artist reveals above all the strong and sincere vision of a 19 year-old boy's modern world."
This is where I bought it from: Kaugummi Books. Check out their catalogue!

BUXEY.COM

BUXEY.COM are Warner Damen, a filmmaker and Geert Jan Bijlstra, an Art Director from Amsterdam. Their website has not been updated since 2007, but it contains a collection of images of everyday men in California that is worth checking. Buxey are interested in "male aesthetics" but without the glossy models. As they say "It's purpose is to show a broader range of feelings than just libido."

You and I where high

On Yann Faucher's website there is a beautiful description of his work. I'm quoting:
"Here are some of the 1/125sec testimonials of what some life can be, memories or mirrors for a period of 3 years, mixed feelings of love, joy, intimacy, quietness, loneliness, fear and finally everything but love. How not having enough to learn something about us. it's time now to make the virtuality collapse, lucky star and lovely moons... here comes the moment of present and reality." Here's the site
